The garage sale concept originated in the United States, where it became popular in the 1960s and 1970s. I lived my early childhood in the U.S. and garage sales were already well entrenched in my culture and in my family’s customs, so much so that my mom, once she came to Switzerland, organized this kind of garage sale in my grandmother’s garage. In the U.S. it caught on with individuals and families, who often for reasons of relocation sold used items and furniture still in good condition right out of their garage or in their backyard.
Garage sales are a popular way to do business and promote the reuse of items, while also helping to create a sense of community.

How to participate with your own “salt” space:

Announce by Wednesday, March 26. In case of rain, places are limited.
Fee for participation CHf 15.
Garage sale will be held on the forecourt and third floor at Space.around.
